Discover what’s hot for Autumn/Winter 16 during Fashion Month

For those who like to stay ahead of the pack and always look their best, February has to be one of the best times of the year to check out what will be hot in the fashion stakes, with several fashion weeks taking place across the world, forming what has been colloquially dubbed as “Fashion Month”.

Throughout February and into March cities such as Paris, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Dubai and Stockholm will all be hosting their own fashion weeks, though the main highlights will be three of the “big” fashion weeks: London, New York and Milan.

Running between February 19 and 23, London Fashion Week is one of the world’s most exclusive fashion events. Though the majority of the shows are open only to press and buyers, there is the chance to get closer to the designers and buyers at the London Fashion Weekend. The official home of London Fashion Week is the NCP Car Park on Brewer Street – while this might not sound like the most glamourous of locations, its perfect for creating a vast catwalk space and housing hundreds of collections of clothing, shoes and accessories. Some designers, however, prefer to do things their own way – Burberry, for instance, showcase their new collections in a tent within the grounds of Kensington Gardens – so expect to see special events popping up all over London. Favourites and household names such as Paul Smith and Julien Macdonald are expected to make an appearance, while the event will also showcase a core of emerging designers. If you’re planning on making the trip, round off your visit with a stay at one of our fashionable boutique hotels in London.

Fashion capital of Italy Milan welcomes back its fashion week for Autumn/Winter 16 from February 24 to March 1, when more than 40 shows will take place all over the city. Among the various venues, several elegant palaces, such as the Palazzo Reale, are selected as stages for design. Milan Fashion Week is the ultimate fashion event to head to if you’re a fan of classic Italian style, with shows from world-class designers such as Roberto Cavalli, Moschino and Prada all set to make an appearance.

Finally, New York Fashion Week will also get underway in February, between the 10th and 18th. Held across several fashionable spots throughout New York, New York Fashion Week is one of the world’s oldest, dating back to 1943. Over a hundred designers will be showcasing their autumn and winter collections throughout the week, including huge names such as Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren.
