Best boutique hotels in London for around £100

London is our hometown and we love it. But there is no escaping the fact that finding somewhere decent to stay in the capital can prove to be very expensive. Here we share with you our pick of the best boutique hotels in London for around £100 per night.

Church Street Hotel Camberwell

1. Church Street Hotel, Camberwell

Starting in Camberwell, the Church Street Hotel is one of our favourite places to stay. Ideally located to explore South London’s hip Dulwich, Brixton and Peckham neighbourhoods, the hotel is also only 20 minutes from the centre of London. There’s a strong Mexican theme running throughout. Elaborately tiled bathrooms, bold colours and beds that wouldn’t look out of place in a hacienda, come together to make this spot a unique find. Charming, unexpected and with the delightful Angels & Gypsies restaurant just next door, it’s great value for such a central spot.

Address: 29-33 Camberwell Church Street, London SE5 8TR

Heading into town, The Bermondsey Square Hotel is a sleek and contemporary spot a short walk from Tower Bridge and Borough Market. Rooms are modern and comfortable and the public spaces are a nice place to hang-out.

3. Belgrave Hotel, Pimlico

Moving west along the river Thames you get to The Belgrave Hotel, located in Pimlico about 10 minutes walk from Victoria Station, Westminster Cathedral and Tate Britain. There’s a rather crisp feel to this smart boutique, in a quiet spot with a formal colour palette and plenty of patterned furnishings. Cheaper rooms come up a little small but this won’t be an issue if you’re just here for a weekend visit. Otherwise all rooms are clean, comfortable and peaceful. Staff are particularly friendly and accommodating and add to the relaxing atmosphere of this neat little spot.

4. The Rockwell, Kensington

Set across two converted Victorian townhouses, this English chic boutique is decked out in dark woods, patterned wallpaper and, of course, blissfully comfy beds. You’re smack bang in the centre of things here too, with the Science Museum and V&A more or less on your doorstep, and the manicured sweep of Hyde Park just a hop, skip and a jump away.

Roxane has a passion for budget boutique travel. From cheap and chic city boltholes or owner-run rural retreats in Europe to faded palaces in India and simple beachfront cabañas in Mexico - she believes that style doesn't always have to come at a price (and restaurants with plastic chairs, packed full of locals are invariably the best ones).
